LENGTH OF CONTRACT OR WORK YEAR:                         9months (187 days)              

 

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Exhibits consistent planning of daily instructional goals, strategies, and methods of assessment that are consistent with the district and state curriculum.
  2. Ensures that adequate plans for substitutes as available as needed.
  3. Demonstrates effective instruction and implementation with strong context, content, and pacing knowledge. 
  4. Demonstrates knowledge of effective instructional strategies that will benefit all students including underachieving and special needs populations.
  5. Demonstrates effective analysis of assessment results and implementation of instructional interventions to achieve mastery.
  6. Demonstrates effectiveness in maintaining student engagement. 
  7. Exhibits quality written and verbal feedback that addresses individual student needs.
  8. Exhibits high expectations for self and students.
  9. Maintains a classroom environment that is supportive of all students.
  10. Demonstrates evidence of student progress towards school and individual goals.
  11. Shows evidence of involvement in school and district activities.
  12. Demonstrates continued growth by participation in professional development activities.
  13. Builds successful relationships with parents, peers and students in order to impact maximum student achievement.
  14. Maintains accurate and timely records.
  15. Plans for and actively participates in the Teacher Growth and Development process.
  16. Adheres to all safety procedures, rules, and policies to ensure the well being of all students.
  17. Reports regularly and punctually to assigned work location and notifies principal or designee of impending absence in a timely manner.
  18. Maintains active supervision of students during all work and duty assignments.
  19. Maintains confidentiality of all student information.
  20. Provides ample opportunities for all parents to participate in parent teacher conferences.
  21. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the principal.
  22. Regular in person attendance.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

All teachers must be highly qualified as defined by federal guidelines of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001.  Teachers must possess a bachelor’s degree and full state certification or licensure.  K-6 teachers must have elementary certification or may have a designated subject certification in grades 5 or 6 if they are departmentalized and only teach that subject or subjects for which they hold certification.  Teachers in grades 7 and above must be certified in the area that they teach.
