POSITION DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Cafeteria Employee
REPORTS TO: Cafeteria Manager
LENGTH OF CONTRACT OR WORK YEAR: 9 months (187 days)
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs efficiently and to the best of his/her ability the duties assigned in relation to preparation of food, serving of food, cleaning of all areas of the kitchen, or other assigned duties in the time allotted.
- Attends training meeting as required.
- Reports to work at designated time and remain on the job until dismissed by the manager.
- Notifies manager at the earliest possible time when unable to work.
- Maintains pleasant working relations with fellow employees by showing consideration for other, patience, respect, self-control, and other desirable character traits.
- Maintains desirable relations between school and community.
- Follows all policies of the School Board and instructions of the manager relating to safety measures, sanitation practices, personal standards, work techniques, and methods of performing duties.
- Performs duties involved in the safe preparation and handling of food, cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities, serving of food, cashiering, and record keeping.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. as well as meet the physical demands of standing, bending, pushing, pulling, carrying and operating equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the cafeteria manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability and willingness to follow instructions, both written and oral.
- Willingness to work in any situation.
- Ability to work efficiently with continuous standing.
- Must pass a current criminal records background check and a current child abuse registry check.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Food Services experience.
